Celebrating the legacy of this distinct breed of spotted horse, the Appaloosa Museum employs museum-style exhibits, videos, documents, photographs and more to inform its visitors. The name Appaloosa, drawing its name from the Palouse Indian tribe of the Washington-Idaho region, was first used in the 1800s, and the museum primarily explores this breed's involvement in American and Native American history. The museum is located just east of the state border with Washington, a few miles west of Moscow.
Open Mon. - Fri. 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Sat. 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; Closed Sun.
